Dr. Mirav Newman, PT , DPT , is based in New York and is the founder of Dynamic Solutions Pediatric Therapy. She is also a leading instructor of T ask-Specific Electric Stimulation (TASES). Renowned for her expertise in pediatric physical therapy, Dr. Newman is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and families.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy from Cleveland State University in 1993 and completed her doctoral degree at Rocky Mountain University in 2012. Dr. Newman began her career at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as a student and later worked at the Cleveland Clinic in 1999. In 2002, motivated by her passion for serving the pediatric community, she founded Dynamic Solutions Pediatric Physical and Occupational Therapy in Brooklyn, New York. Her practice has since flourished, expanding to two thriving locations. In 2023, Dr. Newman presented “A Framework for the Application of Electric Stimulation” at the APTA Academy of Pediatrics annual conference. She continues to focus on data collection and documentation to provide substantial evidence supporting the use of electrical stimulation in the treatment of children with disabilities.

Objective#1: Understand the current literature and updated thinking about cerebral palsy, spasticity, and physiology of musculature in individuals with neuromuscular disorders.

Objective#2: Understand the reasoning for implementing a treatment program incorporating TASES, the goals and benefits of electric stimulation, and recognize which patients are most likely to benefit.

Objective#3: Begin to evaluate children’s sitting and standing alignment and implement decision-making about which muscles to begin with for treatment.
